D. Christopher Osborn conducted a CLE presentation
Charlotte, NC: D. Christopher Osborn conducted a CLE presentation titled Changing Lanes: Ethical Dilemmas and Their Impact on Attorney Mental Health at the Mecklenburg Bar Association Center
Program Description:
Lawyers are often portrayed in films. As with other professionals, such as doctors, these depictions are sometimes negative, sometimes positive, and frequently inaccurate. Nevertheless, real lawyers can learn a great deal about themselves from watching reel lawyers, since film clips are an entertaining, powerful and effective means for elaboration and discussion.
This live, interactive CLE seminar will provide a forum for lawyers to discuss stress and its potential impact on ethical and professional situations faced by real lawyers. We will show various clips from the film Changing Lanes to facilitate dialogue and collaborative consideration of ways to better manage the inevitable stress and demands of law practice and to find the balance with non-work life.
The mix of guided discussions and instructional time will be led by practicing litigation attorney Chris Osborn of Horack Talley Pharr & Lowndes, and professional counselor, MCB Lawyer Support Committee member, and former lawyer, Michael Kahn.
