CHERYL STEELE HONORED AS ONE OF TOP WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Charlotte, July 16, 2007:  Today the Charlotte Business Journal announced the Women in Business Awards at their annual luncheon, given to the 25 most accomplished and influential businesswomen in our area.

Our partner Cheryl Steele was honored for her work with top commercial real estate clients in the area. In 2006, Cheryl Steele was Horack Talley’s top revenue producer.  She was also part of the team who developed our South Carolina office, which opened in January of this year.

Steele has been with Horack Talley for twenty years, joining as a litigator and quickly moving into real estate practice. She holds a B.S. degree in business, magna cum laude, from Meredith College in Raleigh. Her law degree was from UNC Chapel Hill, and she has been a member of the North Carolina bar since 1987.

Cheryl is an active member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), with whom she has held several leadership roles, and with the Urban Land Institute. Business North Carolina acknowledged Cheryl’s work as well, naming her to their “legal elite” for 2007.

As a Women in Business award winner, Cheryl is looking forward to participating in the activities of that group, comprising the most active and accomplished women in the Charlotte area.  “Networking is really important for women in business,” maintains Steele.
